One Little Word & 2011 Goals

Hello everyone!  I figured that I would give my goals for 2011 their own post, no cards, just goals and my one little word for this year.  In the past I have seen many following Ali Edwards and always thought of a word but never really talked about it.  The las two years my words were more personal, Strength and Courage and they really did help me get through a lot of hard things and if you have been following me for a little while you can understand why I went with those words.

This year I have decided on consistency or should I say it picked me, as soon as I started thinking about it before Christmas.  I tried to think of other words, but consistency kept coming back to me and it really does fit with what I want to do this year.  Mostly my word relates to my creative goals, but also works well with my personal goals also.

Crafting Goals for 2011

  • Be consistent with my posts, posting regularly and in format.
  • Be more consistent with commenting, I have been bad at this the last little while and want to do better.
  • Be consistent with my style, I will try other things and have fun but I want to really work on my style and refine it.
  • Apply for more stamping design teams that I love!  (okay not really related to my word but it is a goal for this year)

Personal Goals

  • Be more consistent with taking care of myself,  this includes eating well and exercise.
  • Be more consistent with the time I spend with the kids and Lee.  Try to get out more as a family even if it is just going for a walk along the lake.

I don’t have a lot of personal goals for this year, but the two that I do have are big ones for me.

There you go, my goals and word for 2011!  If you made it this far, thank you for listening to me ramble on.  I am hopeful that by writing them out I will stick to them more consistently (ha there is that word again!) through out the year.

I will be back in a little while with a card to share, but until then I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Here’s to you!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Once again my big plans for crafting at least one whole day over the weekend did not pan out and I am scrambling now to get things done.  I think that is how it always works out, if I have the time to stamp and not feel guilty I end up doing hundreds of other things and when I don’t have the time is when I find myself heading to my desk inspired!

Today’s card is a quick one, that I started on the weekend but finally finished last night.  I didn’t get really detailed or fancy as Mr. Mojo decided to bail on me just as I was putting it all together and I totally forgot what my big “plan” for the card was.

Paper: Basic Grey  Stamps: C.C. Designs, Bella sentiment  Ink: Amuse, Copic markers  Accessories: Glossy Accents, Twine, Button, EK success punch.

I have to do a couple of errands first thing and then it is house cleaning time!  Fun stuff I tell ya!  I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

The Finished Costume (not so gross now)

Happy Monday!  And for once I am happy that it is Monday! LOL  Our weekend was so packed with Halloween fun that I didn’t get a chance to stamp.  The kids party went well, the older boys had fun pranking the girls with a huge spider falling from the trees and they younger ones cleaned up on the candy.

As promised here is Liam’s finished costume, he won first prize in his class for creativity, and one of Darius too.  He went as a hockey goon in one of Lee’s old (like 25 years old!) team Canada hockey jerseys that he just can not part with, but that is a different issue.  ;)

If all goes well today, I will be back tomorrow with a card to share, until then I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Look what I made with my Copics OR My Headless Ghoul! (kinda gross)

Happy Friday!  I don’t have a card to share today, but a scary boy!  LOL  Liam decided at the VERY last-minute that he wanted his head on a platter for Halloween!  ACK, why could he not want to be a cute little ghost or the hippie he was talking about all week?!

What is a mom to do?  I had him draw out what he was thinking and went to work!  I cut up a shirt that I never wear anymore, stuffed the neck with pillow stuffing and then airbrushed away with my Copics until it looked like a nasty bloody stump, neck bone included, then added fake blood to make it even more gross.  We then cut up a box to make the platter, covered it with foil and made the “lettuce” from card stock!  Who knew that stamping supplies could be used for costume making!   The little monkey ran out the door for the bus to quickly for me to get a full picture this morning, but I do have one of the neck.  Once he gets home I will take a full picture to share.

For a very last-minute costume, I like how it turned out and had fun coming up with ideas with my little headless monkey!  He’d better share his candy with me this weekend! LOL

I hope you have a great Friday and I will see you back here tomorrow with my regularly scheduled Drunken Stampers card!
