How I store my bakers twine

Hey everyone!  Today and I am going to show you how I store (until I can convince the hubby that I NEED to have my very own Ribbon Carousel full of spools!) all of my baker’s twine!  I love all brands of baker’s twine and use it almost all the time on my cards, so I wanted to store it in a pretty container that was easy to see and get at instead of a drawer.  I find if it is not out where I can see it, it does not get used and I’m sure a lot of you are the same way with your crafty goodies!

First of all I picked up a couple of packages of wooden clothes pins from the dollar store and found a pretty vase at a garage sale (you will see that at the end) and then I got to work on wrapping all my twine!

To start the twine I pushed it through the spring to keep it secure as I wrap it around.

Next I just started wrapping the twine, pretty straight forward.

Here it is all wrapped, I secure the end in the clip and it is ready to go!

And here is all my twine in the pretty vase where I can reach it easily when I am making cards.

I hope you have enjoyed a little peek at how I store some of my crafty goodies!

Tutorial Tuesday at The Greeting Farm!

Happy Tuesday!  It is my turn to do a tutorial this week over on The Greeting Farm blog!  I was really stumped on what to do and then BAM!  It hit me, I could do one on masking which would be perfect with any of the new Sitting collection.  To see the tutorial check out the TGF blog!

For my card I used Sitting Lovely and some yummy new My Mind’s Eye paper that I just got.  I love the colors!

Paper: MME  Stamp: The Greeting Farm (Sitting Lovely)  Ink: A Muse, Copic markers  Accessories: Baker’s Twine, Prima flowers, Pearls.

Mom is coming to stay with us this week, which will be nice, but I need to get things ready for her!  I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Tutorial Wednesday Making Magnets with Bugaboo Stamps

*This is my 2nd post for today,  if you are looking for my Flutter By Wednesday card please scroll down.*

Hello again everyone, happy Wednesday!  I have a special post today, it is my turn to share a tutorial for Bugaboo Stamps with you!   I have looked at many but never done one myself until now, so please be gentle.  I am going to show you how to make a quick little magent today,  let’s get started!

What I used:

Neenah Card stock, Copic markers, Nesties, Judikins DG3 gel, Be Creative tape (Sookwang tape), Chip board, Magnet, Distress Ink.

Print out the image you want to use and collect all of your supplies, and then color your image.

When you are happy with how your image is colored you can cut it into the shape you wish. I centred the Nestie over my image and then taped it down before running it through my Cuttlebug.

I also ran a piece of chipboard (cracker box) through my Cuttlebug for the back of the magnet to give it added strength.

Attach the chipboard and the image carefully with your adhesive.  Before you ink the edges lightly with distress ink sand any rough edges around your image and attach your magnet to the back side.

Carefully apply the art gel to your image being careful not to get too many bubbles.  If you do get them carefully remove with a pin and allow to dry overnight.  I found that the gel takes quite a bit of time to dry up so you need to watch little fingers!  It took me a couple of tries before I learned that lesson!

I did try using Glossy Accents as well as Diamond Glaze for my this, but the Glossy accents did not dry nearly as clear as the Judikins art gel.  The art gel is also self  leveling  and did not go over the sides which I loved.

So there you go, my first tutorial!  I hope you enjoyed!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
