TGIF!  Happy Friday!  Well, we are under a heavy snowfall warning today, up to 20cm of the white stuff!  Not fun for Lee, he has a job interview in Kamloops today and on a good day it is about an hours drive!  Considering he has been looking for 6 months now he was not going to miss it!  Everything I can cross is crossed for this to turn out well.  My plan for today is to make a nice hot cup of tea or two and go up to my playroom and have some fun!  It has been 6 months since I have had a quite house all to myself!  I made this card earlier in the week with Julee’s Mojo Monday sketch.  This week she also has some mega blog candy to give away to celebrate her 2nd blog-a-versary!  Go check it out!

I had fun making this card!  I coloured Bella with Prismacolor pencils and oms, a Copic marker for her skin and used Spica pens for the flower stem and her shoes.  Once I finished colouring her I used Aleene’s Tacky glue on the flower petals and then added yellow flowersoft.  Once that was dry I added a copper pearl for the centre.  The rest of the card was super easy and came together quickly.

Paper:Bazzill, Senic Route  Stamps: Bella, CTMH  Ink: Versafine  Other:Spica pens, Copic marker, Prismacolor pencils, oms, Fiskars Threading Water punch, EK corner punch, Kaiser pearls, Flowersoft, satin ribbon, pop dots.

I am off to get my tea now and have some fun!  I hope everyone has a great day, and Thanks for stopping by!

A Gift

Happy Thursday!  I have been busy running around trying to finish up a bunch of stuff for work and at the school the last few days, but took some time out to play the other day.  Aileen calls it ‘ creative procrastination’, I love that phrase!

A close up of the image.

I started this not really knowing what it would be, I just wanted to play with glitter and foil!  I ran the red foil cardstock through the Cuttlebug shiny side down.  I then used a glue pen to fill in the snowflakes.  Once the glue was dry I added the glitter.  I decided to run with the red and green and matted in onto green cardstock and added matching green ribbon.  I stamped the TCP image with Versafine and coloured it in with Sharpies and then went over it again with Spica glitter pens for even more bling!  I then used liquid glass on the red bow for a little more dimension and liquid applique on the pom pom before matting and pop dotting it onto the card.

Paper:Bazzill, Red foil  Stamp: The Cat’s Pajamas  Ink: Versafine  Other:Sharpies, Spica pens, Cuttlebug, Satin Ribbon, Liquid glass, Liquid applique, Glitter Ritz, pop dots.

I was asked a little while ago how I photograph silver or metallic paper.  I use this for all my pictures, otherwise I don’t do anything special.  I hope that helps.   Well I’m off  to get some more house work done and maybe play a little bit!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ornament Card ~CSAD~

Happy Wednesday!  I have another card to share with you that I did for Susan over at ~Card Sketch A Day~.

I don’t know why the picture is coming in so small this time, sorry about that.

I ran a piece of white cardstock and ornament folder through the Cuttlebug to start, I then added Prisma glitter to some of the snowflakes.  I cut a piece of red velvet paper out with the Martha Stewart circle cutter and then ran that through the Cuttlebug with the D’vine swirl folder and added gold glitter to the swirls and mini rhinestones for more sparkle.  For the top of the card I used the Martha Stewart branch punch for the greenery at the top of the card and added silver and red rhinestones to look like Christmas lights.  That is pretty much it, other than the sentiment that I embossed in gold and matted.

Paper:CTMH, Red Velvet ?  Stamps: CTMH  Ink: Versamark  Other:Rhinestones, Gold ep, Glitter Ritz, Martha Stewart branch punch, Cuttlebug, Ribbon, pop dots, Prisma glitter, Sakura quickie glue pen.

I hope you all have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Winter Wishes ~ Mojo Madness #63

Happy Monday!  Only 17 more days until Christmas!  That means only 11 more days and my kids will be out of school for Winter break!  It also means visits from family, Christmas concerts, shopping, decorating and baking like a crazy lady!  Sometimes I really wish that I had more hours in my day to get everything done and still have some time to relax, but as hectic as it gets, I still love this time of year.

I made this card for Julee’s Mojo Madness Contest.  I love her sketches they never fail to inspire me!

I used all TCP stamps again for this card, they are so much fun!  On the larger shimmery white mat, I did some 2nd generation stamping with the large snowflake. I used it again on the white middle band and embossed it with iridescent embossing powder.  I stamped the image and sentiment on the same shimmery white cardstock and coloured it in with sharpies and Spica pens.  The shimmer on this card really does not show up in the picture, but it reminds me of a crisp, sunny winter day!  Here is a second picture, I think the simmer comes out better.

Paper:Bazzill, Shimmery CS ?  Stamps: The Cat’s Pajamas  Ink:Versafine, Versamark, CTMH  Other: Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border punch, iridescent ep, Sharpie markers, Spica pens, pop dots.

I hope that everyone has a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Rustic Snowflakes ~ OCC sketch challenge

Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far.  I did get a chance to play last night, but once I sat down I did not know what to do.  Off to the computer I went in search of  inspiration.  I found this sketch over at OCC.  Back to my playroom I went, and one big mess later I came up with this card.

The 2 large snowflakes are made from Peel-Off’s and embossing powder.  They became a little ‘rustic’ looking when I hit them with heat, but I like the look of it for this card.  The rest of the card was super easy and fast to come up with.  I embossed the burgundy cardstock with the snowdot Cuttlebug folder, which matches the Cosmo Cricket paper so well, and I added ink to the image mat with a stipple brush.

Paper:Bazzill, CTMH, Cosmo Cricket  Ink: CTMH  Other:Peel-Off’s, Copper ep, Ivory pearl ep, Heart button, Copper brads, SU! photo corner punch, Cuttlebug, grosgrain ribbon,  pop dots.

Thank you to everyone who leaves such kind comments, I love hearing from you!  Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

My Playroom!

As promised, the pictures of my playroom!  It was so much work, but worth the move now that the snow has started to fall!  Before I claimed this space it was Lee’s office space, but I decided to rearrange stuff so that I could use it for the winter.

This is the view as you enter!

My workspace.

 The view from my desk.

 A winter wonder land!

Where I keep my paper and stamps as well as Cuttlebug & Scor-pal.  I also use this space for cutting.

The rest of my toys!

Well, there you have it, my playroom!  Now if only I could find the time to go up and play today.  I have been too busy cleaning the kitchen and getting the Christmas baking  started to be able to play.  I think I will try and sneak up for a few minutes now before I have to start cooking dinner.  😀

I hope you are all having a fabulous day, thanks for stopping by!

Is it too late to be good?

Happy Friday everyone!  It has been a busy week here for me with work, getting ready for Christmas and PAC meetings at the school.  I finally got a chance to play this morning with a bunch of new goodies that I picked up a little while ago.  I don’t seem to have a problem making all of my Christmas cards, I am just slow at sending them out!

Here is a close up of the tree, I just love the bling!

The design for this card was inspired by the sketch over at CPS, it is almost the same, just altered a little bit but not much.  I stamped the new Cat’s Pajamas set, Deck the Hall, in Versafine and coloured it with prismacolor pencils and oms as well as Spicas and Sakura glitter pens.  I then added mini rhinestones for the lights and yellow Stickles for the star.  I used Ruby Red liquid pearls in the corners after punching them with the SU! ticket corner punch.  I used the snowflakes from the same set and embossed them with iridescent glitter embossing powder to create an subtle background.  I punched the snowflake out of DCWV’s glitter mat stack with my EK Success snowflake punch and pop dotted it up and then added a rhinestone to the middle for a little extra sparkle.  I also embossed the sentiment with red embossing powder to help it stand out more.

Paper:Bazzill, Doodlebug, DCWV  Stamps: The Cat’s Pajamas  Ink:Versafine, Versamark  Other:Prismacolor pencils, oms, CTMH red ep, iridescent glitter ep. Kaiser rhinestone, mini rhinestones, Skaura clear glitter pen, Spica red pen, Stickles, Liquid pearls, EK snowflake punch, SU! ticket conrner punch, pop dots.

I am going to go and clean up my playroom and then maybe start working on getting my cards ready to send.  I will make some hot chocolate, turn on the Christmas music and watch the snowfall, if that does not get me in the mood, nothing will!  I hope everyone is having a great day and thanks for stopping by!
