Happy Wednesday! Today’s challenge over on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog is to use punches in a creative or different way! This really was a challenge for me as I do not own a lot of different punches, but I gave it my best shot!
I started by punching what seemed to be a zillion hearts out of different pink cardstock. I then slightly curled them and started gluing them to a piece of cardstock that I cut in a rough circle. I let each layer dry before adding the next, I don’t know if I really needed to do that, but I had to get all of the glue off of my fingers! Once I had all of the hearts put together I put a Pretty in the centre of the flower and brushed on a bit of Shimmerz to every other layer to help give it even more depth. I then punched out more hearts in yellow for the butterflies and used the SU! slot punch for the body, and for a place to add the pearls. The background is the reverse or negative side of the D’vine swirl folder that I sponged some ink onto. I finished it all off with a Verve sentiment that is embossed and a bit of piercing along the bottom edge.
Paper: Bazzill Stamp: Verve Stamps (Beautiful You) Ink:CTMH (Outdoor Denim, Heavenly Blue), VersaMark Accessories:Cuttlebug (D’vine swirls), Fiskar punch (heart), SU! slot punch, Martha Stewart punch (Branch), Kaiser pearls, grosgrain ribbon, Iridescent ep, Peggy’s Pretties (Raspberry), Shimmerz (Angel wings), pop dots.
I can’t wait to see what the other Design team members did this week! Come check it out and while you are there why don’t you play along with us this week? I would love to see what you do with punches. As always have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Happy Sunday! How has your weekend been so far? I went to a crop Friday night at Lisa’s Scrap Shack and had a great time. I also had a chance to spend some time with my Mom on Saturday before heading home.
While I was at Lisa’s I picked up a few more goodies to play with, including this American Crafts paper from one of her kits. I am just loving this paper so much right now. 😀 I stamped and clear embossed the image before colouring it with Copic markers. I also embossed the sentiment from the same Pink Cat Studio set. The rest of the card was super fast and easy to put together. If you have any questions about what I did just let me know.
Paper: Bazzill, American Crafts (Everyday) Stamps: Pink Cat Studio Ink: Versamark, Versafine Accessories: Clear detail ep, Copic markers, mini rhinestones, Martha Stewart punch, pop dots.
I have a bunch of running around to do today to get ready for the week, but with any luck I will find my way back to the playroom at some point. Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!
Happy Wednesday! I have another card to share with you that I did for Susan over at ~Card Sketch A Day~.
I don’t know why the picture is coming in so small this time, sorry about that.
I ran a piece of white cardstock and ornament folder through the Cuttlebug to start, I then added Prisma glitter to some of the snowflakes. I cut a piece of red velvet paper out with the Martha Stewart circle cutter and then ran that through the Cuttlebug with the D’vine swirl folder and added gold glitter to the swirls and mini rhinestones for more sparkle. For the top of the card I used the Martha Stewart branch punch for the greenery at the top of the card and added silver and red rhinestones to look like Christmas lights. That is pretty much it, other than the sentiment that I embossed in gold and matted.
Paper:CTMH, Red Velvet ? Stamps: CTMH Ink: Versamark Other:Rhinestones, Gold ep, Glitter Ritz, Martha Stewart branch punch, Cuttlebug, Ribbon, pop dots, Prisma glitter, Sakura quickie glue pen.
I hope you all have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
Whew! I did it just before the end of the month, I almost forgot about this card until I saw it while cleaning and moving all my stuff upstairs the other day. I had figured out what I wanted to do with this sketch, I just had not put it all togeather.
I used the Bloom dots folder with the Core’dinations chocolate and sanded it to show the pink core, then I used terrific tape and glitter (burnished velvet) before punching out the cupcakes. I love this Martha Stewart punch! The top cupcake is attached directly to the mat, the second has a thin pop dot and the third I used thicker pop dots. I then painted Shimmerz onto the prima flowers to add a little bit more bling.
Paper:Core’dinations, Bazzill, ? patterned Stamp: CTMH Ink:CTMH, Vesamark Other:Shimmerz, Glitter Ritz glitter, Kaiser pearls, Prima flowers, Terrific tape, Martha Stewart cupcake punch, pop dots, clear ep, Cuttlebug.
I hope that everyone is having a great Friday, I’m having fun playing and watching the snow fall! I will post pictures of my space on Sunday once everything is tidy 😀 Thanks for stopping by!
Good morning! I joined a card makers only blogging group over at Splitcoast a little while ago and this is our first card challenge. Tanja is the hostess for this challenge, if you are interested, the sketch and instructions can be found here. It took me a little while to figure out what I was going to do until I saw the SCS tutorial on Sparkly Stained Glass. I will absolutely try this again, only next time with a larger image as these ornaments were a bit small and hard to be exact with.
The hardest part of this card was doing the glitter, but again I would use a larger image next time. I framed each of the circles with branches I punched with the Martha Stewart branch punch. I also glued on a few micro fine silver beads and added little red bows to finish the wreaths. Yes, I did tie them myself! I think that the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory.
Paper:Cosmo Cricket, Bazzill, Acetate Stamp: Scenic Route Ink: Stazon Other: liquid glass, Martha Stewart branch punch, Glitter Ritz, satin ribbon, pop dots.
Well, that’s it for me right now, I have to get ready for work and do a bit of grocery shopping. I hope that everyone has a great week and thanks for stopping by!
